Hiking Happy Hour

Come join me as I combine 2 of my favorite things...hiking and drinking! Bring a nalgene of your favorite mixed drink and a snack to share as we hike up to the Lounge (aka the Rock Quarry behing NCAR). There we will relax in the chairs made from the stone slabs and enjoy the setting sun, tasty drinks and good company. 1.7 miles one-way with 700 feet elevation gain. Meet at 6 pm in the NCAR parking lot. Bring your own glass and a headlamp in case we linger late. (Disclaimer-totally stole this hike idea from my friend Paul)

this sounds fun . . i'm having a crazy work day so not sure if i'll be able to make it. is there a back up plan if the weather is not cooperating?

NCAR is the cool looking building that you get to by going west on Table Mesa from Broadway. The road winds its way up to the NCAR facility and ends there.

Jody, I may be late. I need to meet my AI for the kayak class and pickup some equipment after work. I don't want to hold up the group so, should I not be there in time, please go on? Oh... and please send me an e-mail address so I may send you info about the class and try to convince you to sign up.

Sounds really great! My attendance depends on workload. After all, it's a school night.
