i viewed this with friends the night it went to DVD in 2007.

it's really a comment about our world right now, the sci-fi premise is almost invisible. it's really and deftly about the divisions and psychic crevasses separating men and women most of the time, and how in that dichotomy are the real tools for the demise of the human race.

it's very "punk" as there are scenes of moral degradation and urban decay, as well as a section with some street activists doing stupid, stupid things, behaving arogantly and gettinghrurt.

i was pleased to see THAT sort of thing shown in a film, as it's a part of real life that tends to go undocumented.

punks can sometimes have a way of behaving super self righteously, like they are the only ones correct...sometimes. To see the Fish in Childrn of Men displayed in such a fashion was...awesome.

a Beautiful, sad film that is one of the very few that came out in the last ten years that i would recommend to people i liked very much...

Mikal, thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out soon. Are there any movie group meetups coming up? I didn't see any.
